How’s the Market?

It’s Thanksgiving week (really, already?!?!) and I have something a little different – I want to thank you for reading my blog and letting me be a resource for you for all things real estate in Montecito and Santa Barbara! Hopefully it’s no secret that I love creating stand out marketing for our properties; I am equally devoted to analyzing, understanding and sharing the latest news and inside scoop that determines where the market is heading and especially what you need to know to buy, sell and get the highest price for your property.

So, Happy Thanksgiving from me and the team – Linos, Alex, Olivia and Charlotte!

The question at the top of Buyers and Sellers minds lately is, are prices rising or falling? My view is they are flat and all indications are they will remain at this level through 2024. Looking at the national change in home values over the last two years shows that there was a dip in home prices in the second half of 2022 leading to headlines predicting a crash. The reality is it was temporary and since February of this year, prices have been appreciating both nationally and In Santa Barbara County.

NATIONAL PERCENT CHANGE IN HOME VALUES

Last week there were 2 New Listings in Montecito, 3 Closed Sales and 5 new Pending Sales. It might not be at the back breaking pace of 2020, but our market remains steady.
