Do you enjoy a challenge?
I recently had the privilege of being interviewed by Aaron Howitt of Rate One Financial/Howitt Mortgage. In his interview series “Cutting Edge” he publishes interviews with entrepreneurs and professionals who he believes have a cutting-edge approach to their work and life philosophy. When he asked me to describe my favorite type of sale, even I was surprised by my quick response:
“I do enjoy a challenge. I really get excited about complex properties and complex sales. It’s challenging and stimulating to put those together”
Every sale has challenges and for me the key is to anticipate and be proactive to ensure a smooth and successful transaction. The conversation we shared was a fun exploration of thoughts and experiences about work, family life, working with family, sales philosophy (or lack there of), being a mom, stress eating and so much more.

Last week in Montecito there were 5 New Listings, 2 Closed sales and 4 Pending Sales. Here is what stood out:
- 885/875 Park Lane closed off market for $36.8M. This 10 bedroom/ 14 bathroom two parcel, ocean view estate was on the market for $43.5M just recently, but the deal came together after the listing expired. The sale is the 5th highest sale price for a non-beach/bluff estate in Santa Barbara.
- 454 Meadowbrook Drive – a pristine and private single-story Spanish Colonial casita in Ennisbrook had several offers and went pending after only 10 days on the market. (Another record price for the Ennisbrook Casitas!)
- There were two other pending sales that went into escrow in under 25 days, 433 Alcala Lane (15 days) and 172 Santa Elena Lane (24 days). Both are newly renovated, turn-key, single level homes.
The story of last week is that demand for the Montecito lifestyle is as strong as ever.
