That’s the thing about buying a home. You can start with a list of what you want, but Montecito doesn’t come made to order. Every property has its own combination of setting, architecture, land, views, privacy and lifestyle. And sometimes what you fall for isn’t what you thought you were looking for.
We saw that play out this week.
A major estate, on and off the market for years, has gone into escrow with a backup offer. Another, newer listing had received several low offers that didn’t come together. Then the right buyer walked through the door, saw the value the seller saw, and a deal was made.
Different houses. Different buyers. And timing? Completely unpredictable.
After showing thousands of properties over the years, there’s one thing I’ve seen again and again: when the right buyer walks in, you feel it right away — everyone does.
And it’s FUN! The setting. The style. The land. The view. The location. They all matter. But then there’s the feeling.
It’s not only real estate. It’s an emotion.
