More than $53 million separated Montecito’s highest and lowest sales this week.
And the contrast offers an interesting look at what makes a property valuable.
At the top, 670 Hot Springs Road sold for $56.1 million. Known as Far Afield, the 10.5-acre estate dates to 1917, with architecture by Francis T. Underhill and gardens by Lockwood de Forest. First listed in 2021 for $74 million, it spent five years on and off the market before closing off-market as Santa Barbara County’s second-highest sale of 2026.
At the other end, a tie: $2,725,000.
159 Loureyro Road: Just bring your toothbrush. This beautifully renovated, 903-square-foot pied-à-terre near the beach features Calacatta Viola stone, waxed plaster walls and limestone terraces. After time on and off the market, it sold off-market.
2745 Torito Road: A little farther off the beaten path, with three times the space, a detached guest house and sweeping views. The location and need for updates may explain its 122 days on the market.

On Saturday, October 31, Coast Village Road transforms into Ghost Village Road as little ghosts, goblins, families and four-legged friends take over the Lower Village for an afternoon of costumes, candy and community fun. Local businesses open their doors for trick-or-treaters, turning Montecito into one big Halloween celebration.
